Adjusted for inflation, it comes in at number 3 in the list of highest-grossing films ever made right behind Avatar (2009) and Gone With The Wind (1939). If you were to include toy/merchandise sales into the mix, it would take the top spot by a very wide margin. It isn’t all just about making money.
